Andre Iguodala 2007

Andre Iguodala was drafted out of the University of Arizona in 2004 by the Philadelphia Sixers. The decision to draft him was panned by many basketball experts, including Dick Vitale. Iggy or AI2, whichever you prefer, would prove everyone wrong, starting 82 games his rookie season and 5 additional ones during the playoffs. His steady play and explosiveness endeared him to the front office and everyone knew that eventually he would hit paydirt if he kept it up. Andre Iguodala 2007 may have sealed the deal. The year before he signed his big contract, he averaged nearly 20 points a game, 4.8 assists and 5.4 rebounds a game.

The guy whose collegiate career scoring average was less than 10 points a game, would after his play in 2007,become a franchise player and be paid handsomely for the privilege. Things, would however, quickly fall apart. About two years later, with $54 million left on his contract, Andre Iguodala is being shopped around for a trade. The team doesn’t think that his production is worthy of such a big contract. They also reportedly want to go younger and so Iggy and some of the team’s other veteran players will be replaced. Things have changed a lot for Andre Iguodala 2007.
