Andre Iguodala is a professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association (NBA). A player known for his explosiveness and athleticism, Iguodala’s seven years in the league have made him a very rich man. The Andre Iguodala contract agreed to by hi and the Philadelphia 76ers was a huge one. He signed a six year, $80 million contract, which I don’t have to tell you, is an incredible amount of money.

Iguodala plays the position of swingman, which is essentially a forward/guard hybrid. He can do a little bit of everything, including rebounding, dishing out assists and slashing to the lane. He’s not considered a pure shooter, a la Ray Allen. He’s more of a slasher, meaning that he can score but he has to put the ball on the floor to do so more often than not.

Andre Iguodala is still young, (he’s under 30 years old) so he’s likely to get at least one more contract. However, he probably won’t be resigned in Philadelphia. Rumor has it that both parties are looking to move on without the other. One of the reasons the 76ers want to get rid of him is because his salary is much too high for his level of production. While Andre is a clearly a good player, his skills and the team’s success hasn’t been commensurate with his salary. Therefore, look for a new Andre Iguodala contract to be made with a team other than Philly.
