The Andre Iguodala rumors involving him being traded have been rampant this year. Most of the talk suggests that the will be. Just two to three years ago, he was named the team’s franchise player. While, he has played well, averaging about 17 points a game, he hasn’t been able to reverse their fortunes and once again make them a contender. The 76ers were looking for A.I. 2 to do what A.I did and he just wasn’t able to. As a result, they want to resume their search for a franchise player who can or go younger.
The fact that Andre Iguodala is a good player means that the 76ers will be able to get someone of value in exchange for him. This year he’s averaging about 14 points a game, down from the 17 points he averaged last year. Although his numbers are a down a little in this category, it’s early in the season and he’s been hurt. Iguodala remains a quality player and he’s relatively young, (he’s only 27 but soon to be 28) so he still has some in the tank.
Because it seems like virtually a done deal that he’ll be traded, much of the speculation now surrounds where he will end up. There has been some talk that he will end up in Dallas. New York, Cleveland and Houston have also been mentioned.
